Happy Holidays, Brig! It looks like you are celebrating the season at my favorite
ho ho home away from home!
Christmas Day at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is always a good idea. My friend
Jennifer and I stopped by to see the Christmas tree a few weeks ago. Now, we need to get back to try
The Perch. This resort is heavenly!
To get there from the Holiday Inn at Lake Buena Vista, you have a few options, depending on your circumstances and preferences.
If you have a
dining reservation at the Grand Floridian or are meeting a friend who is staying there, you can use a private transportation company, like a taxi or rideshare service, to drop you off at the hotel. Please be prepared to show the Cast Member at the security gate your dining reservation in the
My Disney Experience app, or provide your friend's name and room number.
If you do not have a reservation but want to use a private company for the quickest route, you can take a rideshare or taxi to the
Magic Kingdom Guest drop-off area at the Transportation & Ticket Center (the TTC). From here, you can hop aboard the
Disney Monorail and travel the highway in the sky to the Grand Floridian.
If you prefer to save money, it looks like your hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to
Walt Disney World Resort. You can find the destinations and times in the lobby, but the online information lists the shuttle as going to
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios. From these locations, you can use complimentary
Disney Resort Transportation to reach the Grand Floridian via a stop at the Magic Kingdom.
Buses between Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom start running at 10 a.m. From the Magic Kingdom bus depot, walk across the front of the theme park to find the Monorail Station. The Resort Monorail stops at the Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian.
From EPCOT, you can take the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. This Monorail stops at the TTC, where you can transfer to the Monorail to the Grand Floridian.
Brig, I know this is a lot of "if... then..." options. I hope it's helpful, but if you have other questions or additional information that could help me refine my recommendation, you can
follow up with me directly. You are also always welcome to ask any
planDisney panelist for help with your Disney vacation planning.
Merry! Merry!
