Hiya Shannon - welcome to
planDisney!
I'm so excited to hEAR that you'll be experiencing the magic of the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration in just a few short weeks! You're going to love staying at
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. While you're there, be sure to check out the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, combining all you care to enjoy dining with a musical comedy show unlike any other!
There are several different options you can explore for your transportation needs from the Orlando International Airport to Fort Wilderness. I always suggest taking a look at car rental rates first. Having your own personal vehicle during your vacation can be a fantastic convenience, so I like to start there and then compare renting a car to all other options to see how much more I'd be paying for that convenience. When I'm
not renting a car, my go-to airport transportation is a rideshare service, and I've had the best luck with Lyft. You can select various sizes and classes of vehicles/services, there is minimal wait, and the driver will take you directly to your Resort.
There are also several third-party motorcoach services, including the Sunshine Flyer and Mears Connect, which offer various services to Walt Disney World Resort. Some of the less expensive options will include stops at multiple Resorts, and thus these options can save you some money but will likely cost you some time. There are also private car services that can be booked in advance, however, these are
usually the most expensive options.
My best advice is to shop around and compare your options. For me, I've had some trips where renting a car for my entire trip was less expensive than taking a Lyft to and from the airport. I've also had trips where a private car service was just a bit more expensive than the shared motorcoach options, so I decided to save some time and have a fancier commute! The truth is, prices do fluctuate, and every crew has its own specific priorities and needs - there isn't one "best" option!
