Greetings, Emma! Thanks for bringing another great question to planDisney. I am happy to help!
Downtown Los Angeles is just about 30 miles/48 km North of the
Disneyland Resort. This can take anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour (or more) by car, but will take substantially longer via public transportation. I see that you're visiting from the United Kingdom, where there is some of the best public transportation that I've ever experienced. I am afraid you'll find our public transportation is not nearly as efficient.
If you don't want to take a
taxi, Lyft, or other car-sharing service, you will likely need to
look into bus or
Amtrak train transportation. I attempted to map it, and the quickest trip from downtown Los Angeles to Disneyland was just about two hours with several transfers. There is a
"Getting to the Disneyland Resort" section of the Disneyland website that provides several options on how to get to the resort from all over Southern California. I think it would be helpful in your planning, Emma.
Be sure to download the
Disneyland Mobile App before your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. It's the best way to scan your park tickets for entry, download Disney Photo Pass pictures, check wait times, and mobile order food throughout the resort. The app also has a map function that allows you to find water bottle filling stations and the nearest restroom. It's the most valuable planning tool both before and during your trip!
I hope this information helps, Emma. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
See ya real soon,
Melissa
