Hi there, Colleen! Thanks so much for stopping by with this great question.
Colleen, we frequently travel to the Most Magical Place on Earth with my in-laws, who always have an electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) with them, so I am more than happy to help you out with transportation options.
Colleen, you will be happy to know that the vast majority of
Walt Disney World Resort transportation is able to accommodate an ECV, including the
busses,
monorails,
Disney Skyliner, and most of the
watercraft. In fact, while we often have our own car with us, we usually opt to take Disney transportation so that we do not have to deal with loading and unloading the ECV.
To get to Disney's Hollywood Studios from Disney's Contemporary Resort, you will want to take a bus. Once you arrive at the bus station, you will notice a marker for a wheelchair or ECV. Wait at that location and when the bus arrives, the driver will load you and your party first via a motorized ramp. Once you are on board, the driver will help secure your ECV. Generally, each bus can accommodate two ECVs however I have heard that as capacity is currently limited, they are only accepting one ECV per bus.
Colleen, one of my favorite things about vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort with my in-laws is how
mobility disability-friendly everything is. You will be able to stay in your ECV for the majority of ride queues, only disembarking for some rides at the very last moment. Charging locations are also plentiful, but make sure you bring a cover or oversized poncho to protect your ECV, just in case of an afternoon storm.
I hope that this helped, Colleen. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help as you plan your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
See you real soon!
