What are the best tips for 1st time disney with teens and tweens

    Hi, Jayne!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question about visiting the Disneyland Resort with teens and tweens. I hope your family is looking forward to exploring the Happiest Place on Earth!

From Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disneyland Park to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and Incredicoaster in Disney California Adventure Park, there’s no shortage of exciting attractions for older kids to experience! While summertime is a popular season to visit the parks, I think you’ll be able to get quite a bit accomplished. With the help of Disney FASTPASS service and Disney MaxPass, which allows you to make FASTPASS selections from your mobile device and spend less time waiting in line, you should have lots of opportunities to experience your kids’ must-dos. Check out the theme park attractions list online to help you plan your days. It can be sorted by age interest, height requirement and thrill level.

Beyond the thrills, there are many activities well-suited to older kids. For example, at the Animation Academy in Disney California Adventure Park, your family can try drawing classes. Guests of all skill levels are invited to draw their very own Disney character with step-by-step instructions from a Disney artist. You can take home your artwork as a one-of-a-kind souvenir!

You don’t need dining reservations for every meal, as there are many great quick-service options throughout the resort. However, if you plan to enjoy any table-service or Character Dining meals at popular locations like Blue Bayou Restaurant or Goofy’s Kitchen, I recommend making reservations up to 60 days in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-3463. I hope this helps, Jayne! Please visit again with more questions as your vacation preparations continue.

    Wishing you magic,
