What are your best tips for planning a Disneyland vacation with teens?

Hey there, hi there, Brian! Welcome back to planDisney! We love seeing Guests come back to ask more planning questions.

I am excited to see that you are planning a visit to Disneyland Resort with teens. As a mom to three teenagers, I have a bit of experience enjoying the parks with this age group. I love enjoying the parks with my teens because it's much more relaxed than when we had to have a more structured day when they were little. Plus, they can carry their own stuff! My first tip would be to get them involved with the planning. I don't overplan, but I do have each kid pick one or two must-dos and try to prioritize them during the day. If they have their own phones, I also make sure they have the Disneyland app downloaded so they can check wait times, entertainment times, and even browse menus to know where they want their next treat. This also means they have their ticket easily accessible if they decide to go off on their own.

My kids are big on thrills and attractions, so I also think it's worth it to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass for your day. This will let you maximize your time to get to more attractions and shorter wait times. When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you also get unlimited digital PhotoPass photos throughout your day. Now I can barely get my kids in a photo these days, but when we get to Disneyland, magic happens, and they willingly will pose at PhotoPass locations and love stopping to get a picture with their favorite character too. That alone is worth the price of Multi Pass for this mom.

Lastly, my family is big on snacks and food at Disneyland. Before a trip, you can find us together in our living room watching food review videos to know what we want to add to our list. My pal, Cody, has a great video on some of the fun 70th Celebration food. If you are planning on visiting sometime soon, have everyone check out the Foodie Guide for the 70th Celebration. There is also one for Halloween Time that was just released if you will be visiting then. Then use the app to mobile order at participating locations to save more time there, too!

Brian, thanks again for bringing us another great question. You know where to find us for your next one! I hope you and your teens have the best time making memories!

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
