Hi there, David, and welcome to planDisney!
What an exciting time for your family - planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with children is so much fun because you get to see it through their eyes! We have always enjoyed bringing our toddlers to Walt Disney World Resort, because there is so much to do for everyone in our party. While there are tons of tips I could give you, I'd like to focus on just a few today: thoughtful stroller packing, planning a rest day at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, and choosing attractions with and without height requirements.
My family relies heavily on a great double stroller to help carry not only our little ones, but also our gear. While I don't believe in overpacking for a day at a theme park, there are definitely some essentials you should bring when you have toddlers in tow: a change of clothes, any snacks they love, a water bottle for each child, hand sanitizer, a clip-on fan if it's hot, ponchos, and a stroller cover in case of rain. You'll often find Cast Members armed with stickers, which is always a fun distraction! During a day at a theme park, you'll surely accumulate some souvenirs, so I like to have a large clip to hang bags on my stroller handle. If you don't want to travel with a stroller, you can
easily rent one right inside the entrance of any Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park, as well as at Disney Springs.
If your kids are anything like mine, they do their best work in the early hours. We're up and ready well before the theme parks open, which means we get to enjoy the parks in the cool morning air, with low attraction wait times and
perfect photo opportunities. This also means we get a little more tired toward the end of the day! My family likes to schedule a rest day in the middle of our vacation, so that we can enjoy our Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and take it easy for a bit. My kids can't get enough of the pools and water slides at the Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani! They love making s'mores, playing in the arcade, and browsing in the gift shop. It's a win for everybody!
When planning your time at a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park, it's important to know which attractions have height requirements. If there's an attraction that your twins won't be able to ride (or might be intimidated by), definitely take advantage of
Rider Switch Service so that the taller folks in your party don't miss out on some of the more thrilling experiences, like TRON Lightcycle / Run! Attractions without height requirements, like "it's a small world," will be the best bet for your kiddos, since you know your family won't have to split your party in order to ride. You can find a helpful list of these attractions on the
Walt Disney World website, and the information is also listed in each attraction's description in your
My Disney Experience app.
