What is your best tip for traveling with a toddler? The one thing that is absolutely essential to do/bring/plan for?

Hi, Kirsten!  I have traveled to WDW with my kids since they were babies.   If I had to say what one thing worked the best, it would be staying on their schedule!    Enough rest, naps, and keeping bedtimes.   It was really hard some evenings being tucked into our room by 8:00 p.m. when there was so much fun going on, but when you see your little mouseketeer all snug and happy, it is worth it!

Make sure to bring a comfortable stroller with a sunshade and basket.   When you go to the parks, bring a tote or backpack with plenty of diapers, a change of clothes, sunscreen, crackers, juice boxes, and a sun hat.   When you enter a park, find the location of the Baby Care Center - these places are life savers!   They are perfect for changes, feedings, or a quick change of clothes for your little ones if they are covered in chocolate from their first Mickey Ice Cream bar!

You might not see everything or get to do all the activities you want when your kids are little, but take a slow pace and enjoy the magic through their eyes!   If you follow their lead, you will be just great!  (And don't forget your camera to capture the moment!)

Have a wonderful vacation in Walt Disney World with your family!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
