Hi Jessica,
Welcome to planDisney!
Planning a trip for little ones to the Walt Disney World® resort is exciting! Of course, I think any time of year is a great time to visit but I hear your question. When our girls were that age, we visited in May and it was quite lovely. The
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is amazing and our girls have loved the
scavenger hunts.
I would avoid spring break weeks and, although we love the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort, the crowds can get intense during that time of year. The decorations and entertainment are wonderful, so consider going during the second week of December. This should be before some schools get out for the winter holidays, so you may be able to avoid some crowds.
Equally important, I will also say that crowds can be managed with certain tools. If you make good use of
Lightning Lane Passes including Single Pass and Multi Pass experiences you should be able to experience several attractions during your visit. We also make at least one
advanced dining reservation per day so that we have a scheduled time to dine and take a break during the day. We love to make those reservations for
character meal experiences.
Jessica, we have also visited during the summer months, but crowds can be touch and go since many children are out of school. And the heat can be unbearable at times. So, I would keep an eye on the
Special Offers to see if you can book a vacation package for late April to mid May. I hope this helps!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
