Hi Eric! October is a very busy time in the
Fort Wilderness Resort at Walt Disney World. Whether you are staying in a cabin or camping in the RV and tent loops there will be lots going on in this fall month.
Many of the RV guests will bring decorations to celebrate the Halloween holiday. There will be cute and simple blow up type fun decor to very extravagant haunted houses built around their sites. Although the week of Halloween brings out the most decorations you will find them starting to go up as early as the first week of the month.
If you are lucky enough to get a reservation for Halloween weekend then you can also enjoy the pet costume parade, pumpkin carving contest, site decoration contest, and the beloved golf cart parade. On top of that there will be Halloween movies and often a special guest who just might appear during that time.
Weather is changing during October with some years finding perfect cooler days with less humidity while other years it remains hot. But that is Florida weather no matter what month you visit....it is always unpredictable!
