When is the best time of year to visit WDW?We were planning on going at Christmas 2012 but weve decided for our first trip there we'd rather go at a value season rather than a holiday or peak season. We are unsure about which resort we are going to stay at.

    Hi Elisha:

There are probably a number of different opinions on when is the best time to visit Walt Disney World.  In my opinion, October is the perfect month to visit.  Schools are in session, so crowds tend to be slightly lower than normal.  Weather in October generally hovers in the mid-to-high 70's, and hurricane season, which starts in the summer, tends to taper off by October. Keep in mind that while the weather can get crisp in late October, it's usually not too cold, and Disney resort and waterpark pools are heated all year long.  You can also take advantage of Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival (World Showcase is transformed with over 25 food and wine kiosks featuring small plates of international food) and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (a hard-ticket special party during select nights at the Magic Kingdom).

January is also a great time to visit during value season, but the weather may be cooler and there tend to be fewer special events.

WIthout knowing your budget or interests, it's difficult to give a Resort recommendation.  Feel free to browse Disney World's Accommodations page for ideas and return with any specific questions.

    Enjoy your vacation.
