When is the best time of year to visit Disneyland as far as crowds?

    Hi, Jennifer!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question! In my experience, the best time to visit the Disneyland Resort in terms of avoiding larger crowds is during the off-season. The on-season is when the parks are the busiest—in the summer (from late June until Labor Day), during the winter holidays (beginning mid-December and ending the first week of January), and when most schools are on spring break. The off-season is the rest of the year, with the exception of three-day holiday weekends, which are often busier.

If you’re looking for a time to visit the Disneyland Resort when crowds will be minimal, I suggest from mid-January to late February, April (excluding spring break) through the week before Memorial Day, or September (after Labor Day) through mid-October. Not only are crowds lighter (especially on weekdays), but hotel prices are often lower as well. However, keep in mind that park hours are shorter, entertainment is pared down, and there can be more attraction closures during the off-season than during times of peak
attendance. Check out the park hours and schedule before arriving so you can plan your days accordingly.

I hope this information is helpful, Jennifer. Please feel free to ask me any other questions as you plan your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
