What is the best time of year to visit Disneyland California?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Claudia. Thanks for stopping by with your question for us.

With so many planned activities and events throughout the yEAR at the Disneyland Resort, it’s hard to pinpoint “the best time of year” to visit. Seasonal celebrations, merchandise, and treats are unique to certain times of the year.

I suggest checking out these Pre-Arrival Tips on the Disneyland Resort website. When visiting during peak travel seasons such as public holidays and school breaks, Disneyland Resort’s operating hours are usually extended. This allows Guests to enjoy the parks despite larger crowds. On the other hand, visiting during quieter times usually translate to shorter park hours. This is also the time when attractions are being refurbished. But, lines will be much shorter for Character Meet and Greets, as well as attractions.

My favorite time to visit Disneyland Resort is during the fall. With the change into cooler weather, I simply love the festive decorations throughout the parks for Halloween Time. Schools are back in session, which typically means smaller crowds compared to the busy summer vacation months. As mid-November comes around, Disneyland Resort undergoes another transformation as it gets ready to celebrate the Holidays. This is another favorite time for my family to visit.

I hope this information will help you decide on when the best time for your family to visit the Happiest Place on Earth. If you have more vacation planning questions, please do not hesitate to stop by the Panel again, Claudia.

    Have a magical day,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
