what is the best time of the year to visit the disney world parks with children age 6 & 7 for 3 or 4 day visit

Hi there, Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending in your question. Planning a Walt Disney World vacation with little ones is such an exciting time, and choosing when to visit can make a big difference in how magical and stress free your trip feels. Let’s find the perfect window for your family’s next unforgettable Disney getaway!

The best times of the year to visit Walt Disney World with children are the periods that offer lighter crowds, pleasant weather, and plenty of kid friendly experiences. Two of the most ideal windows are early December and late January. Early December gives you cooler temperatures, lower crowds compared to the rest of the holiday season, and all the Christmas decorations and entertainment that make the parks feel extra magical for kids. Late January is also excellent because the holiday crowds have ended, the weather is very comfortable, and wait times are generally much shorter.

Another great time to visit is from late April through mid May. This period sits between the busy spring break season and the start of summer travel, so crowd levels are more manageable and the weather is warm but usually not extreme. It’s a lovely time for families who want a calmer experience without sacrificing long park hours.

If your family can handle heat, late August through mid September can be one of the quietest times of the entire year. It has been my experience that the crowds are significantly lower, making it much easier for younger kids to enjoy popular rides with shorter waits. Just keep in mind that this is one of the hottest times in Florida, so taking breaks, staying hydrated, and using indoor attractions to cool off becomes important.

Finally, early November, especially the first two weeks, is another strong option. The weather is pleasant, holiday decorations begin to appear, and crowd levels are moderate. It has a relaxed feel before the Thanksgiving rush begins.

Overall, for most families with kids around this age, early December or late January offer the most consistently comfortable and stress free experiences.

I hope this helps you feel excited as you choose the perfect time for your Walt Disney World getaway. With a little planning and the right travel window, you and your kids will be able to enjoy smoother park days, wonderful weather, and all the magic that makes Disney so unforgettable. Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question. Wishing you a visit filled with laughter, adventure, and pixie dusted memories that your family will treasure for years to come!
