Hi Jenny! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by the panel with your question! Here at the panel, we love taking on the challenge of keeping our wait times low while keeping the fun on an absolute high! I’d be happy to help you narrow down some times that be more likely to fit your desire for lower crowds!
My rule of thumb is that if kids are out of school or adults are on holiday from work, it is likely to be more crowded at
Walt Disney World. Simply put, so many families take advantage of the scheduled time off work and school to maximize their time on our vacation. To combat this, our family generally tries to avoid these times when we pick our dates for Walt Disney World, because we prefer lower crowds if possible. But let’s be real — a crowded day at Disney is better than an uncrowded day at home, at least for my family!
Our lowest crowd experiences have surprisingly come during December! Every year our family plans a
Disney Christmas trip and typically travels down around the 2nd week of December (our teen enjoys the chance to miss the last few days of school!) Traveling during this period usually helps us miss the crowds on the front end of our vacation, but we can definitely feel the difference in crowd levels as the Christmas holiday nears. My family has also experienced lower crowd levels in February, early May before schools are out, and mid-October. With my experiences in mind, I would recommend considering vacation dates around these times. However, as with most things Disney, things are always subject to change! You never know when a
new resort offering will be released and flooded with Guests from all around!
I hope this helps, Jenny! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation,
stop back by and let me know!
