what is the best time of year to plan a first trip to Disneyworld with an almost 2 year old (she will be 2 this October)? Doesn't have to be soon, but want to be able to experience all parks and great weather with her.

    Hi, Andrea!

Take advantage of not having to work around school schedules while your princess is still little!  Traveling in September is wonderful as crowds are small and you can often get some great Special Offers such as Free Dining.  The weather is still warm so you can enjoy your resort pool during afternoon breaks.

Another great time is early to mid-December.  The holiday decorations are glorious, and you can enjoy the festivities and be home before the holiday rush in WDW.  The weather is a bit cooler which is nice for the parks but you might not get as much pool time.

Now, when NOT to go:  Avoid holidays such as Christmas, New Years, Easter, and Presidents Day.  Try to avoid the summer months as this is a busy time and super hot.

Whenever you decide to go, remember that you will need to cater to your princess' schedule!  Start your days early, have a stroller, take mid-day breaks, and stay on her bedtime schedule.  A rested princess is a HAPPY princess!  Good luck planning your magical Walt Disney World vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
