Best time to visit? Oct.19-23,2011, Feb. 16-20, 2012, or May 29th-June 3rd? Best time for discounts?

The October dates will be your absolute best choice. Very low crowds, best chance for discounts and best weather. In fact, my family is visiting WDW this October for those very reasons!!

First, let's talk about crowds. The February dates are near President's Day when crowds really peak at WDW. Lots of schools are out for the week. Likewise, the end of May has more crowds as schools are letting out across the country. For example, my son's school lets out this year on May 24th. So, October is the winner.

Next, let's look at the weather. February can still be chilly in Orlando. End of May and early June are extremely hot. I've been both times of year and would recommend October weather over February and May.

And most importantly, let's consider discounts. Any time that you are traveling near a holiday or when schools are out, you'll have less chance of a significant savings. Forget about February near President's Day. You'll pay premium prices. For October, you'll typically see package deals (sometimes Free Dining) and hotel room discounts. Keep your eye on the Special Offers.

Here's a tip: For now, book a room only reservation so you know you'll have your first choice resort. Once discounts are released, call and ask them to be applied to your existing reservation. You should also book your Advance Dining Reservations as soon as possible. While crowds are low during that time, if Free Dining is released, the restaurants will start to book solid.

    Enjoy a magical vacation!
