What is the best time to visit in July of this year or the beginning of August as far as avoiding crowds as much as possible? Thank you

Welcome, Sharice! I always love to see a Guest from my home state of Washington visiting planDisney! Thank you so much for bringing us this question and I hope we can get you the guidance you need to continue planning your next visit to Disneyland Resort.

There really is no bad time to visit 'The Happiest Place on Earth,' in my humble opinion! But, I understand your question is about trying to make the most of your time during your magical vacation. There are a few things I typically think about when I'm planning my own family's Disneyland Resort vacation that help us make the decision on timing. First, I personally find that holidays and school breaks naturally reflect a higher visitor volume. These tend to be popular times of year to visit and I always encourage Guests to make their theme park reservations early, just in case they sell out!

Another consideration is if there are any special events taking place during your planned visit that you'd like to experience. For example, this summer will feature Pixar Fest through August 4, while Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort will begin August 23, 2024!

My last recommendation Sharice is to consider a few optional add-ons to your visit that might help you maximize your time while you are at Disneyland Resort. The Park Hopper ticket would grant you access to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day, during eligible hours. You might also wish to add Disney Genie+ Service to your visit, which would allow you to book Lightning Lane Entrances for select attractions and reduce your wait times. You can also utilize the complimentary Disney Genie Service feature embedded in the Disneyland mobile app which lists attractions and their expected wait times throughout the day so you can choose the time that feels best for you and your family. With a few clicks of a button, you can create a personalized itinerary based on your preferences and Disney Genie Service will create tailored recommendations just for you! Finally, one tip my family always uses is to take a mid-day break, before returning to the theme parks in the evening hours. This allows us to rest our feet, rehydrate, and make a game plan for the rest of the day. I always feel more re-energized and ready for all the magic awaiting us back in the Disneyland Resort theme parks!

I hope these suggestions will prove useful to you, Sharice. If there's anything else you can think of, please feel welcome to come back to planDisney and allow us to help! We'd love to see you again real soon.

    Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
    Tishra
