Welcome to planDisney Renee, where we are happier than Cinderella in her pumpkin carriage to help you plan a Magical vacation.
Renee, making the decision of WHEN to visit the Walt Disney World Resort depends on quite a few personal factors and there is no “perfect time” that fits every family, but let me offer up a few suggestions in the hopes it helps make your decision.
Since you’re looking for lower crowds, I would encourage you to avoid major holidays AND holiday weekends. In my experience, weeks when kids are typically in school have lower crowds than weeks when schools might not be in session on Fridays or Mondays. For example, if my family were to visit in April 2022 we would avoid the weeks immediately before and following Easter. I’ve also noticed that times immediately following a long school break
(such as the last week in August and the first week in January) tend to be
lower crowds.
Now, while Florida is known as the home of Mickey Mouse, it’s also known for excessive heat! If you’d like to avoid the hottest part of the year but also have days warm enough to take advantage of the Disney Resorts Collection hotel pools, I recommend spring. You’ll find warm summer-like days but without the peak heat of July and August. You’re also more likely (this isn’t guaranteed) to avoid the sometimes-daily downpours that seem to happen during hurricane season.
Sometimes, Renee, I like to prioritize our wish list when making a decision about time of the year. For example, if our goal is to visit as many attractions as possible, that might be easier when he weather is at its coolest. However, if seeing the parks decorated for Halloween is a must, obviously we would want to visit in September or October. I encourage you to think about the suggestions above and then your vacation goals while picking dates. And, as a guest who has visited the Walt Disney World Resort during every season, I can promise there is Magic to be had all year long.
Renee, I’ll be wishing on a star that you land on the perfect dates for your family! If you have questions about
booking a vacation package,
