Hi! When is the best time to visit Disney with little ones? I have a 5 and 2 year old and live in the Orlando area and plan on going by myself. Also, how do I get the best deals on a resort as i am planing a staycation? Thanks!

Hey there, hi there, Talia! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!

As someone who has been taking her tween daughter to Walt Disney World since she was an infant, I wholeheartedly believe it's always the right time to bring your little ones to the Most Magical Place on Earth.  There's nothing like seeing the magic through your kiddos' eyes, and I'm honored to help you plan a visit with your little Mouseketeers.

Since you are a Florida resident and can take advantage of incredible discounts on Disney Resort hotel rooms and theme park tickets, I recommend always starting your planning on the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page on the Walt Disney World website. While the offers are ever-changing, right now, Florida residents can save up to 30 percent on rooms at select Disney Resort hotels most nights in early 2025 and up to 35 percent this summer, as long as you book by February 24, 2025. Let the best deal and the magic guide your planning!

When choosing your Resort hotel, consider your transportation to the theme parks. One of my favorite perks of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is leaving reality and my car behind and using the complimentary Disney Resort Transportation. You can travel by Monorail, Skyliner, boat or bus, and your options depend on where you're staying and which parks you're visiting. When traveling with little ones, especially on your own, not having to fold up and hold the stroller to get on the Skyliner or Monorail is pure pixie dust!

While there is not a bad time to visit with little ones in tow, I recommend staycationing in the spring or summer so that the weather is warm enough for the three of you to take midday breaks splashing in your Resort's pool. I'm pretty sure my daughter has always loved pool time as much as she enjoyed playing in the theme parks!

I also recommend visiting during the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, which is in bloom from March 5 through June 2, 2025. This festival is full of beautiful gardens and topiaries, a butterfly garden, a playground, an oh-so-fun scavenger hunt and so much more for kids. I think aligning a fantastic room deal, warm weather, and the Flower and Garden Festival will be the key for you and your little ones to have the most magical adventure at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

I hope this is helpful, Talia, and I hope you and your family make lifelong magical memories this year! Please feel free to stop by any time and ask me anything. You've got a friend in me!

    Blue skies and sunshine,

    Mandy
