When is the best time to start looking for flights? When is the weather generally cooler? And lastly, what is the likelihood we will encounter a snake? That’s frightening!

Hi Lauren! Thanks for bringing us a triple-barreled question! Let’s tackle each part one by one.

First the weather. If you are always cold like me, Florida weather is perfect all day, every day! My Scottish husband would disagree with me during the summer, so he suggests the best time to visit for cool, comfortable weather is mid-November through mid-December, and then late January through early March. Both of these times offer pleasant weather and moderate crowds. During the November-December timeframe, you get the benefit of the Christmas decorations being up, which are glorious!

So now that we’ve decided the time of year - flights! I’m a planner, so I always say the sooner, the better! You have a few options for regional airports, but the most commonly used is Orlando International Airport (MCO). Every time I am there I feel like it’s one big Disney party! From there, you can take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express - a complimentary transportation service from the airport to Walt Disney World Resort hotels. My favorite part is that your luggage magically appears in your resort room after check-in!

Now on to snakes...Florida is a tropical climate, and because of the great weather, animals (much like people!) flock to Florida. The theme parks and resort properties have visible signage meant to keep us informed and safe. Always follow those guidelines, and your likelihood of encountering a snake in the wild is very low. Make sure though to keep an eye out for a certain boa constrictor on the Jungle Cruise - he tends to slither out quite unexpectedly ;-)

I wish you planning adventures sprinkled with Pixie Dust!
