Welcome back to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cathy!
Oh, my, you have stumbled upon one of my family's absolute favorite places at
Walt Disney World:
Sanaa!
In fact, we just enjoyed a delicious meal there last week. I booked an 11:30 lunch, and we were so pleased with that time of day for our visit. First, the animals were all so active, as the heat of the day does not settle in until a bit later; several giraffes were also having lunch at that time, so they came oh-so-close to our table. A crane, too, was seemingly fascinated with either his reflection or a guest at the table next to us. His antics kept that whole side of the restaurant entertained for quite awhile. Your grandson will love it!
At check-in, ask if you can be seated by a window. Because of the early hour, the restaurant may not be crowded, so getting a table in that location may be no trouble at all. (Check out the main picture of the dining room in the Sanaa link above; we sat at that first table for four that you see on the left side, right next to that gorgeously large window. What a treat!)
While dining, try the Indian-style Bread Service. On the
Sanaa lunch menu, you'll see this listed for around $12. However, we opted to pay just $2 more to get ALL of the accompaniments. These arrive arranged by level of heat, so the more timid diners can stick to one end of the dishes and the others can sample them all. Yum!
Be sure to leave some time either before or after your meal to walk out onto the
Savanna Overlook, too. So fun!
Happy planning, Cathy!
