What is the best time to do the Kilimanjaro Safari? Also, if you fast pass the Rivers of Light show, I have heard that you still have to be there 45 min early. So, will you be able to enjoy the Tree of Life Awakenings at all, since it starts at dusk?

Hello, Stella! I adore that you’re looking to go on Safari! Aside from giggling at animatronic animals on Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise, Animal Kingdom’s Kilimanjaro Safaris are the best way to view wildlife. If you’re looking to see as many animals as possible, dusk and early mornings are the best time to see as much activity as possible. The animals seek shade and cool during the hot of the day, and the Lions sleep almost 22 hours a day! I would attend as safari early in the mornings and then seek my Resort for an afternoon lunch and nap.
Heading back to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the evening, you should be able to view the Tree of Life Awakening every ten minutes starting around 9pm. The projections are so creative and inspiring to watch! There are normally one or two Rivers of Light performances, so make sure you choose a FastPass+ that fits your schedule the best, and then either before or afterwards, watch the Tree of Life come alive. It’s completely possible to do both in an evening.
If you have any more questions about Animal Kingdom, please let me know if I can assist. I adore the alien tropics of Pandora and riding Expedition Everest is even more challenging in the evening! ~ Lindsey P.
