What is the best time to dine at Sanaa to see the animals? We are going in early May and have a 6:40pm reservations with our two little boys.

Hello Adriana! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Sanaa Restaurant was my family's favorite dining experience when we stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. My wife and I loved the food and my kids loved watching the animals through the table-side window.

When we dined at Sanaa, we had Advanced Dining Reservations for 6:15pm and a few of the Bongo and Greater Kudu wandered past our window during our meal. As it was about to rain, the animals were using the alcove area for shelter from the downpour.

I spoke with Cast Members at Sanaa and they said that animals are regularly wandering around the area but that it is often hit-or-miss when dining whether or not you will get a up close look. If you are interested in getting a table at one of the windows, mention to your server that you would be willing to wait for the experience. Cast Members will do what they can to accommodate your request and may be able to give you an idea for how long of a wait you may be looking at.

During your wait, be sure to head out to the Savanna Overlook for a wider view of the animals and to experience a nighttime look using night-vision goggles when the sun goes down.

    Bon Appétit!
