What are the best things to do with 4 year olds at Walt Disney World?

    Hi Sherri,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Our girls were just a little older than your little ones on our first visit with them. We had such a magical time on that trip. First, I suggest that you book a vacation package with a resort hotel stay and theme park tickets. Doing so will get you access to all of the benefits for resort hotel guests. We love staying at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels because it puts us in the middle of the magic with easy access to complimentary resort and theme park transportation.

Review the Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers & Small Children. After I reserved our vacation package, I measured each girl so that we would know which attractions they could experience based on their height. One of them was not quite 40 inches tall when we started planning, but she made it by the time we arrived and, thankfully, could ride more rides. They loved Soarin' Around the World, Astro Orbiter, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Also, be sure to see the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade and the Happily Ever After fireworks. Check the attractions list to see the height requirements for rides. Next, we reviewed the character dining experiences to see which ones we needed to reserve. On that first trip we did Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

Sherri, our girls have loved Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. I have seen one or two younglings get scared, so check out videos on YouTube to see if your little ones are ready to battle the Dark Side!

May the Force be with you!
