What are the best things to do at Magic Kingdom on a first visit? What if you can only spend 4-5 hours there? It’s going to be my birthday, so bonus points for extra special suggestions! :) Thanks!

    Welcome to planDisney, Lindsay!

So you're going to be visiting Magic Kingdom Park for the first time in forever. How wonderful! This is my favorite park at Walt Disney World Resort. I remember the first time my family walked down Main Street, U.S.A. When my mum caught her first glimpse of Cinderella Castle she started crying tears of happiness. It truly is a magical place!

There's so much happening right now for The World's Most Magical Celebration. If you're only going to have a limited amount of time in the park, then you're going to have to be very selective. Personally, I would try visiting every land and doing at least one thing in each land.

On Main Street, U.S.A, I'd watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade and/or (depending on the time of day you visit) watch the nighttime spectacular, Disney Enchantment. In Adventureland, get a DOLE Whip at Aloha Isle and ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Then head to Frontierland and ride my favorite attraction, Splash Mountain. Warning: you may get wet! Then go to Liberty Square and visit the happy haunts at the Haunted Mansion. If you get out alive, visit Fantasyland and ride one of the classic attractions — "it's a small world", Peter Pan's Flight, Mad Tea Party, or Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Finally, when you get to Tomorrowland, ride Space Mountain (if you're a thrill-seeker) or the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (if you'd like a relaxing break).

To help you maximize your time, you might want to purchase Disney Genie+ for the day. This will help you get on more of the attractions. You might even want to consider purchasing Individual Lightning Lane entrances for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain.

Since it's your birthday, Lindsay, stop by any gift shop or Guest Relations near the front of the park. Let a Cast Member know that it's your birthday and they will give you a complimentary celebration button.

Finally, if you have time, stop by and say hello to Mickey at Town Square Theater.

Lindsay, in the midst of all the rushing around and excitement, make sure you take time to stop and be in the moment. Get a photo by Cinderella Castle, listen to the music playing in the background, and take a whiff of all those delicious smells coming from the various restaurants and stores.

You're going to have a wonderful day, Lindsay. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
