Hi Deborah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Our girls were 5-years old on their first visit!
On their first visit, we visited all four theme parks and they loved them all. I was a bit surprised because, at that time, Epcot was actually their favorite theme park. Children can be unpredictable so there really is no way to say which park will be your daughter's favorite. Having said that, Magic Kingdom is a must-do and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park has several attractions that our girls loved at that age. Here are some of the attractions I suggest for little ones:
- Magic Kingdom - Mad Tea Party, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight, "it's a small world," The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Astro Orbiter and The Barnstormer
- Disney's Animal Kingdom - Na'vi River Journey, Kilimanjaro Safaris, The Festival of the Lion King, Kali River Rapids, and TriceraTop Spin
- Epcot - Soarin', Frozen Ever After, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Mission: SPACE, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Spaceship Earth and Living with the Land
- Disney's Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Mania! and Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
Deborah, if your daughter has a rebel side, she must battle the Dark Side in
Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. Recruits must arrive to Disney's Hollywood Studios by park opening and head directly to the sign-up location. We usually do a pre-park opening dining reservation at Hollywood & Vine so that we can enter the park and sign-up before the crowds arrive.
Although you know your little one best, our girls love all of the parks, including Disney's Animal Kingdom. Remember to check the height requirements
May the Force be with you as you choose!
