What is the best strategy for booking our Fast Passes? Should we take earliest available times, or try to find rides all in the same area of the park? Thanks!

Hello Katherine, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great planning question.

I love being able to save time waiting in the Standby lines of my favorite rides and attractions by using FastPass+. Everyone has a great strategy and I am happy to share mine with you for making the best use of FastPass+.

When I am preparing to make my selections the first thing I take into consideration is which rides and attractions typically have the longest wait times. I make a list of at least 5 or 6 experiences at each theme park that I would want to use a FastPass+ based on which experiences have the longest wait times. Now your list may be different from mine if you are not a thrill rider or if members of your party have height restrictions.

You can make your selections 30 days in advance, with a valid theme park admission linked to your My Disney Experience account. If you are staying at select Disney Resort Hotels, you can make your selections 60 days in advance, for the length of your trip. On your selection date, you will want to make sure that you are signed in and ready to go about 5 or 10 minutes before 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time. This will make sure that you are ready to go promptly at 7:00 a.m.

When I am signed in and begin to make my selections, I try to select all of my experiences as early in the day as possible, using my list as a guide. The reason for making them as early is because once you have used your initial 3 FastPass+ selections, you can make a fourth selection at a FastPass+ kiosk or from your smartphone or tablet device using the My Disney Experience Mobile app, providing there is still availability. If your selections are too late in the day, there may not be any more FastPass+ experiences remaining. I hope that helps with your planning.
