Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Barbara! I hope you are enjoying planning your upcoming vacation! I just got back from
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge with my Mom, who is in her 60s, and has trouble with arthritis.
We have to take it a little easier when we visit the park with Mom, instead if my usual “Disney Ninja” style. We make sure to grab a good breakfast at our Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and aren’t afraid to splurge on comfortable amenities like the new
Minnie Vans for long trips. We also make sure to take plenty of cold drink breaks, stepping into attractions like the Tiki Tiki Room for it’s A/C climate and nearly always end a few days early for cocktails by the fire in our Resort hotel lobby. Choosing which activities you’d really like to see and using FP+ reservations to help you do this are a great way to not go crazy on vacation and still have a good time. If you’re a foodie, I recommend trying Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival as adults love to sample small plates in World Showcase. It’s easy to make a meal out of 2-3 dishes. When it comes to Disney Cruises (I think that’s what you meant by DC), I would refer you my fellow
Cruise panelist, Beth! She knows everything there is to know about cruising for all types of families. If you meant DS, for Disney Springs, I urge you to take the bus transportation to this trendy destination for shopping, shows, dining and more. Dining reservations are handy for not waiting for dinner, and the shops offer plenty to choose from. I’d love to help recommend more activities for your magical trip, so please return to ask another question. I’ll see ya real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
