Hiya, Gail. Thanks for stopping by planDisney. We are a group of real Guests who have spent years visiting
Walt Disney World Resort, and we are here to share our experiences to help you plan a smoother and more memorable stay.
Based on your question, it sounds like you are looking for a resort location that works well for mobility concerns and is close to both the
Disney Skyliner and dining. Without knowing exactly which resort you have booked, it is a little tricky to point you to one exact spot, especially since several resorts sit along the Skyliner route. Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resort are all official Skyliner resorts. Some Guests even consider Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club to be connected simply because it is an easy walk to the International Gateway at EPCOT, where the Skyliner arrives.
The right room request really depends on where you are staying. For example, at
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the Aruba buildings tend to be the most convenient because they are close to the Riviera Skyliner station and not too far from Old Port Royale for dining. If you are staying at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, the Finding Nemo section is your best bet. It puts you close to Animation Hall for food and right near the Skyliner station.
Since mobility is a concern, I strongly recommend skipping the
Direct-To-Room Service when you arrive. Head to the front desk instead and talk with a Cast Member about your needs. While nothing can be guaranteed, I have had the most success with special requests when I speak with someone in person. Being flexible and understanding about availability goes a long way, and Cast Members truly do their best to help.
If you want to
send me a follow-up with your exact resort, I would be glad to take a closer look and help you narrow down the best location for your stay.
TTFN,
Brent
