Hi Maureen,
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is such a lovely resort. It is so well-themed, after National Park Lodges of the Pacific Northwest at the turn of the century.
The good news for you is that Disney's Wilderness Lodge is not too big, so it is fairly easy to walk from one place to another at the resort. Unfortunately, some of the amenities that you want to be near to are not too close to each other at this resort. For instance, the bus transportation is at the front of the resort, whereas the boat transportation is off to the back of the resort. Roaring Forks is kind of in the middle.
As to the view that you will have from your room, it will depend on what room type you booked, so be sure that you booked the type of room for the view you want. A Woods View room will afford you a view of woodlands or the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. A Courtyard View will have a view of a courtyard, pool, waterfall, or Bay Lake.
I suggest that from
Disney's Wilderness Lodge page, click on the link for the map and navigate around the map a bit for a better idea of where you might like to stay within the resort. I think that you will likely want to request a room on the west side of the resort (the left side as you are looking at the map), which include Roaring Fork and puts you closer to the boat transportation.
If you are further than 10 days out from your vacation, you can make a request using the same means that you booked the vacation. Once you are within 10 days of your check in, you can call the resort directly to make a request. You can call Disney's Wilderness Lodge at 407-824-3400. Please know that while Disney will do all that they can to accommodate all requests, they are not guaranteed.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions, Maureen!
