Hello, Katie,
Disney's Contemporary Resort always hold such a special place in my heart as it was where I first stayed as a child and fell in love with all things Disney. In fact, it is my middle son's favorite resort, and my entire family loves the convenience of being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom.
So when it comes to rooms (and no specific budget restriction), the best room to me is a Theme Park View - Atrium Club Level. These rooms not only provide guests with the wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom, but also a view of the Seven Seas Lagoon. It is a great treat to be able to watch the fireworks from your private balcony and enjoy the pampering of staying as a concierge guest. There are also Tower - Theme Park View rooms without the concierge service. By staying in the Tower, you will be able to look out onto the Grand Canyon Concourse from your room's exterior hallway. You'll be able to see guests shopping, dining with Mickey, and the monorail coming and going.
While there is something great about seeing the Magic Kingdom, I also really enjoy the Tower - Bay Lake View rooms. Bay Lake is so lovely and calming; it compliments the hustle and bustle of days spent at the parks with its serenity.
You may also find it helpful to visit www.touringplans.com and do a search for
View of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Once there, you can actually see the views from most of the rooms in the resort. It may help you to better decide with is the best room for your family.
