What are the best rides to book the lightning lanes for at the parks?

    Hey Cible!

Welcome back again to planDisney! Thanks again for letting me help you plan a magical vacation!

Now I have strong feelings about Genie+. Just to give some background about me. I hate waiting in lines. It's true, and I love using Genie+ to lessen the wait and enjoy the attractions sooner. Genie+ is something you purchase for your party after midnight the morning of your entry into the Parks and it allows you to book Lightning Lane return times for many attractions in the Parks. It can be purchased right on the My Disney Experience Mobile App and I make sure to make this purchase well before 7 AM on the day I want to go to a specific Park. You must have a Theme Park Reservation for that Park for it to work! At 7 AM I book my first Lightning Lane selection and my strategy for each Park is as follows:

Magic Kingdom Park: Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, and Haunted Mansion. After this, any ride I select is just the cherry on top! I use the Early Theme Park entry benefit of being an on-site Walt Disney World Resort Guest to walk onto Peter Pan's Flight first and then head over to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

EPCOT: Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and, Soarin' Around the World.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Na'vi River Journey, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Dinosaur. If you love to meet Mickey and Minnie in their safari outfits then the Meet Favorite Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost tends to run out of time selections pretty early so squeeze this in early as a selection. This is where my son first met them and it has a special place in my heart.

My BIG tip for securing the most Lightning Lane reservations is to set a timer on your phone and be prompt at redeeming them. I still have an alarm on my phone labeled "Jungle Cruise" from the last time I was in the Parks!

Two Bonus Selections: At Magic Kingdom Park at 7 AM and then at 1 PM you have a chance to book as part of your ticket a spot in the Virtual Queue for TRON Lightcycle/Run. This timing rule also works at EPCOT for the ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Both of these rides are amazing and brand new. No extra costs here! I recommend one person in your party focus on the Lightning Lane selections and another try to secure the Virtual Queue. If there is any overlap you can head over to any Guest Experience Team Cast Member (look for the big blue umbrellas) and they can help you.

Individual Lightning Lanes: This is an additional purchase and it's for one to two very popular rides in each of the four Theme Parks. For example, in Magic Kingdom Park there is a chance to pay for a Lightning Lane for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle/Run. If you don't want to buy this then I suggest getting to the Parks early with Early Theme Park Entry and completing them first!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions and I will be glad to help!
