Hi Gerald!
Welcome BACK to planDisney! Thank you oh so much for sending another great
Disneyland Resort vacation planning question our way. I'm happy to be your planEAR today!
This is a great question, and I'm glad that you're thinking about it so far in advance! I'd hate so much for your magical vacation to all be undone by one bad
ride outside of the theme parks. Currently, there isn't a preferred vendor for
shuttle service between LAX and
Disneyland Resort and vis versa. There are a few minor background details that caused this (the pandemic, major construction at LAX, etc), but not to fret because I'm hEAR to help!
If you Google '
shuttle from Disneyland to LAX' you'll get a handful of hits that all seem to be about the same price. Sadly you'll have to do a bit of resEARching on your own to find reviews, but something you'll want to note or ask if you call around is 1) pick up time suggestions and 2) if the service stops at other hotels in the area. A $17 per-person ride for the 40-mile drive sounds like a great deal until you're on your 5th pick-up stop and traffic is starting to back up.
The good news is that it's
much easier to arrive back at LAX from Mickey's house than it is to leave the airport.
Los Angeles International Airport recently updated some of its rules for hired rides in an attempt to ease congestion on both the arrival and the departure level by introducing the LAX-it lot; this measure now requires everyone who is planning on using a cab or an app-based ride to make their way from their arrival terminal to an outdoor lot adjacent to terminal 1 to wait for their ride. However, those arriving to the airport via a tax, app-ride, shuttle, limo, town car, etc, can be dropped off right where they need to be. I think your best bet might be to think about scheduling a chauffeured ride, like a limo or baby bus, as it will be one flat rate vs. the per mile/minute fee of an Uber or taxi. You'll also be the only group of passengers in said vehicle. And best of all is you can schedule the pick-up time for when you'd like to leave the hotel vs. being told when to get in only to sit in the car for an extra few hours acquiring more friends. The built-in bonus to this plan is if you use the same service to pick you up from the airport, they can meet you curbside of your arrival terminal, and possibly even help with any large bags you may have.
I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Gerald, and plan the most magical end to your upcoming trip to Walt's original theme park. Be sure to follow the
