Welcome back to planDisney, Nycole! I love this question - there is nothing more iconic than watching fireworks light up the sky at the Most Magical Place on Earth, and there are so many great locations to see the magic from outside of the theme parks, so let's explore some of my favorite options to help you plan for a magical birthday celebration!
Currently, there are two fireworks shows that can be partially viewed from select restaurants -
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park (currently showing at 8:30 PM on nights when there is not a scheduled Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party) and
Luminous The Symphony of Us at EPCOT (usually scheduled for 9 PM nightly). Since you are visiting during the spooky season, in the event that your birthday celebration falls on a party night,
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks will light up the night sky at 10 PM. I would recommend selecting a dining time around an hour to an hour and a half prior to the scheduled fireworks time to ensure you are seated in time for the show and will have the opportunity to enjoy it tableside.
My top pick for viewing Happily Ever After is
Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, with California Grill and 'Ohana as excellent backup choices. I experienced Narcoossee's for the first time this summer, and the food and atmosphere was excellent, but when the fireworks began, the music was piped into the restaurant as well as outside the restaurant on the waterfront deck where we opted to stand and watch as the fireworks reflected in Seven Seas Lagoon. This was the most picturesque, tranquil setting and our server was more than happy to let us step outside to catch the show before returning to our table to enjoy dessert. We also had an excellent view of the
Electrical Water Pageant during our meal.
California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort is another perfect choice, especially if you're looking for a more signature dining experience. Guests who dine here have exclusive access to rooftop viewing of Happily Ever After, or can enjoy the show from their table inside the restaurant as well.
'Ohana offers floor to ceiling window views and also pipes the music into the restaurant during the show.
If you opt for viewing Luminous The Symphony of Us, I'd recommend rooftop dining at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, but I've also heard
Sebastian's Bistro at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a hidden gem when it comes to dining and fireworks viewing.
Nycole, don't forget to finalize your dining selection and book your advance dining reservation as soon as possible! Since you are within the 60-day booking window, you will want to check for availability soon as some popular restaurants do book up quickly! If you don't find what your heart is dreaming of right away, keep checking! Plans are always changing and new availability can open up at any time!
I hope this helps, Nycole, and I'm wishing you a very happy birthday!
