what are the best restaurants to go to for a birthday for adults.

Well hi there Julia and welcome back to planDisney!

So much has changed looking back a decade ago to when you asked us about Rhino Day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Now I'm glad to be able to give you my personal recommendations where you can celebrate a very different kind of day, with all of the magic that comes with turning another year older at Walt Disney World Resort!

When it comes to birthdays, I've personally witnessed them at all kinds of dining locations at the Theme Parks, Resort Hotels and Disney Springs and have even celebrated quite a few of my own at so many! One thing's for sure: no two are exactly alike, so depending on the overall vibe and style of birthday celebration that you have in mind, here are a few of my personal Princely Picks and suggestions:

    • For a more laid-back experience that'll make you feel transported to the islands for a birthday getaway, I totally recommend 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, where you may be treated to a special ukulele birthday song like I was! Consider that oh-so-gooey bread pudding like a tropical birthday cake and afterward, you just might feel like going downstairs to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto for some celebratory drinks to keep the party going under the watchful eye of Uh-Oa!
    • For a bit of a cornier and perhaps a little embarrassing birthday experience, you might want to head over to Whispering Canyon Cafe where all of their usual antics and attention will be directed right at the birthday celebrant. (There's really nothing like having all of the surrounding tables pointing at you, singing at the top of their lungs and echoing throughout the cavernous lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.) It could also be a similar experience over at Disney's Hollywood Studios to celebrate at 50's Prime Time Café, where you might get some good-natured and light-hearted ribbing from your favorite "relatives" once they hear it's your birthday.
    • On the opposite end, you could opt for something more upscale and enjoy a sumptuous dinner at Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa if you're among fancier invitees, especially if you have your heart set on the Chef's Table dining experience. Personally, I've enjoyed being able to end off my night with a bang by celebrating at California Grill and toasting to another year high above Disney's Contemporary Resort overlooking Magic Kingdom Park fireworks for the best birthday view.
Wherever you choose to go, I highly recommend making sure that you indicate that you're celebrating a special occasion when you make your reservation through My Disney Experience and mention it to the Cast Members in case you're not wearing any particular birthday swag, like a celebration button. It's also great to know that you can pre-order your own birthday cake to be served at your meal; there's something about chomping down on one of those chocolate ears that is just so satisfying! Hope this helped Julia, we hope to see you back at planDisney again soon!
