What are the best restaurants for child participation? We loved Hollywood & Vine's Play and Dine and are looking for more! How inconvenient is it to go to restaurants that are not at your hotel? We are staying at POR. Any advice? We're going in A

    Hi Heather!

These are great questions.  I will start with the convenience question.  In general, it is difficult to get from one resort to another resort using Disney transportation unless you are talking about the Magic Kingdom resorts or the Epcot area Deluxe Resorts. From your resort, you would have to take a bus to a theme park or Downtown Disney and then switch to a bus going to your final destination; I would set aside at least an hour for the whole journey.

However, if you are going to eat in a Magjc Kingdom monorail resort then it is a little easier. You would take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then ride the monorail to the hotel you are trying to reach. That makes going to Chef Mickey's or Ohana relatively easy. Of course you could just take a taxi to where you need to go as well.

Great restaurants for children include:  Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Coral Reef Restaurant, Sci Fi Dine-In Theater, and 1900 Park Fare.

I hope this helps. Please write back with more questions.
