Where is the best restaurant to eat at for a low sodium diet

Hi Shellie, welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you decided to stop by with your question. My father has diabetes, my daughter has a tree nut allergy, and I am vegetarian, so I can relate to your question about making sure everyone has something delightful (and safe) to eat during your visit.

One of the million reasons why I love visiting Disneyland Resort is their commitment to allergy-friendly menus and meal options for lifestyle needs. You can find menus online for most restaurants, and several include a special section for allergies and other dietary restrictions.

For table-service restaurants, at the time you make a dining reservation online, you can include a note about needing low-sodium options. Once you arrive at the restaurant, you can remind your server about your request (although in my experience, they are very diligent about bringing it up without being asked!) At quick-service locations, you can talk to a Cast Member at the host stand about low-sodium options. Every Guest has an opportunity to consult with a chef or a specially trained Cast Member about special diets!

Shellie, I’d like to share a story dear to me about dining at Wine Country Trattoria several years ago. Because I had noted in my reservation that my daughter has a tree nut allergy, as soon as we were seated, she was given a special allergy-friendly menu with safe options for her. She didn’t see anything on the menu she fancied but she didn’t want to be disrespectful. The server sensed her hesitation and asked the chef to come out and speak to us. The chef made my daughter smile and made her feel so important. He went back to his kitchen and customized an entrée, just for her! This is the magic we love so much. Disneyland Resort has genuine concern for the health and safety of Guests AND they will go the extra mile when they can. Don’t hesitate to ask your server to speak to the chef, they are very accommodating and willing to help.

Also, you can bring food items into the Disneyland Resort with you. This could be a good way to make sure you have some low-sodium snacks with you in a pinch.

I wish you a truly magical trip, Shellie! Please come back and see us if you have any other questions, you've got a friend in me!
