What is the best resort to stay to see the fireworks display from our room balcony, with easier commute with toddler. Budget matters to us, but for our first visit we are willing to pay for the things that will trully make it magical with minimal stress.

    Hi, Michelle!

I can plan your vacation keeping your budget in mind, or I can plan your vacation with that million dollar view, but that view and the budget are a tough mix.

Value and Moderate resorts are easy on the budget, family friendly, and provide adequate transporation to the theme parks.  All resorts offer pools, quick service eating (some have table service) and that amazing Disney hospitality.  However, there are no views of any theme parks.

When you jump to the Deluxe Resorts, that is when you get more convenient transporation (even walking to the parks in some cases), more dining options, and those amazing views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

You might want to compromise.  Stay in a nice moderate resort and plan to spend an evening on the Polynesian Beach for a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.   Now I know with a little Mouseketeer, you want to be back in your room for bedtime and still enjoy some of the nighttime entertainment (I started taking my kids to WDW when they were babies, so I remember those days!)   We usually planned for one "bonus" night where we would stay out a bit later than usual to enjoy some of the nighttime magic.  We liked watching from Polynesian Beach because my kids didn' t like the noise, so we got the view without the big "booms!"  We'd head back to our room after fireworks (taxis available for a quick ride back to your resort for nominal fee) and let our little ones sleep in the next day.

IF you decide you want to go for it all, I suggest a Contemporary tower room with Magic Kingdom view, a fabulous view and 15 minute walk to the Magic Kingdom.  The views are something you will never forget.  For the budget friendly, give Port Orleans French Quarter a try, it really is lovely!   Good luck with whatever you decide!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
