Hi, Kara!
Picking out the perfect "castle" for the 2015 Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend is such a fun thing to do! And I love talking about Walt Disney World resort hotels.
When you say "Beach Resort", are you referring to Disney's Beach Club Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort? I would love to provide more detailed information based on which one you are interested in. Here are some of my suggestions in each of the categories Disney offers in resorts.
Value
Disney's Pop Century Resort- This resort is newer than the All Star resorts and has its own Disney bus transportation system. The theming is fun and the public spaces are a bit nicer, in my opinion.
Moderate
Disney's Coronado Springs- While this is not my favorite over-all moderate resort, it is my favorite during a race weekend. Getting to the Start Zone area via race transportation is much quicker from Disney's Coronado Springs Resort than it is from other resorts in the moderate category.
Deluxe
Disney's Beach Club Resort- This is my favorite resort at Walt Disney World. Lots of dining options and a great location with excellent amenities if you don't plan on spending much time in the theme parks.
I also suggest keeping an eye on the
Travel Tab on the runDisney website. This is where any special offers will be released as we get closer to registration opening up in July.
I hope this information helps give you a starting point, Kara! And please get back to me on which "Beach Resort" you would like more information for and I can give you a side-by-side compassion of just those two resort options.
Happy Planning!
Faith
