What is the best purse/bag to take to the World?

    Lisa:

I bet you could get a million answers to that question from just the handful of Moms here on the panel!

I don't know if you're like me, Lisa, but I have as many purses as I do shoes and pack several for my trips to Disney...

When my pre-schooler was in diapers, my purse of choice was the lovely, always-in-style, yes-I'm-all-about-function-now-that-I'm-a-mom slender backpack.  Of course it was filled with not only diapers, but hand sanitizer, bandaids, a change of clothes so we didn't have to spend $50 on a pirate costume if he poops on himself, bottled water, slim jims, panchos, and a Buzz Lightyear toy.  Now, Daddy gets to carry the backpack.  But thankfully my son's potty trained, so eliminating the diapers really lightened the load.

Yes, we still carry everything else...

On days when I know I won't be staying from opening to close, we take a different approach: each of our children wear a fanny pack (even our 4-year-old) with their pancho and a slim jim or fruit rollup....This allows me to opt for a purse with a strap that goes from my shoulder across my chest and over to my opposite hip....(I'm sure there is a savvy, tecnical name for it, but school started back this week and I can barely remember my own name.)  I prefer it because it allows me to have my hands free (and is much lighter than the backpack).

At night, if I'm going to the Boardwalk or to dinner, I like the smaller purses with a wrist strap--a step up in style, and I'm ready if we slip into the parks for the fireworks...it's perfect for lipstick, the room key, and my favorite 4-inch brush from the Dollar Tree.

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
