Is it best for price and crowds to go the week before Thanksgiving 2011? Ex, our last day at park would be the 22nd or wait and do our vac starting Mon 28th, '11. We are flexilble and budget/crowds are a big concern for us

Hey, Alisha! Flexibility is awesome - for traveling and for gymnastics. The week after Thanksgiving is definitely less crowded at Disney World. In fact, crowd levels are outright dreamy from Tuesday through Friday the week following Thanksgiving.

From a financials standpoint, your park tickets will cost the same; however, you are more likely to get discounted room rates the week following Thanksgiving (no current promotions for that time right now though.) One money savings piece I can say with certainty is that you'll avoid certain dining surcharges by visiting the week after Thanksgiving. Backstory: Disney adds a $4 surcharge ($2 for kids) to some of the most popular dining experiences during weeks of peak attendance, Thanksgiving week being one of them.

Plus, by going the week after Thanksgiving, you'll be able to experience Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom one of the nights you're in town.
