What is the best pool for a 2 year old, and a 13 month old? We are considering beach club, bay lakes, art of animation any othe rsuggestions would be greatly appreciated?

    Hi Daniel,

If your kids were older, I'd definitely suggest that you stay at Disney's Yacht or Beach Club Resorts because their feature pool, Stormalong Bay, is believed by many to be simply the best on Disney property.  There is a wading pool for the kids at Stormalong Bay but most of the features of this pool (including the incredible water slide) are more suitable for older children.

Unless your kids have a strong preference for a sand-bottom pool like you'll find at Stormalong Bay, I suggest you opt for a stay at Bay Lake Tower.  My sister's family stayed there last May and fell in love with the resort.  Plus their pool, in my opinion, is more welcoming to very small children.  It offers the zero-entry feature which is great for little legs and I bet your kids will love the Mickey-shaped fountain play area near the pool.  My son would have loved this play area when he was a toddler.

Disney's Art of Animation pool is simply huge!  It has colorful decorations around the pool.  If your kids would like to swim amidst Dory and Nemo, this might be the place for you.  While this resort is Disney's newest, it does not have the amenities (proximity to the theme parks, larger and softer bedding, etc.) normally associated with a deluxe property at Walt Disney World.  The other resorts you are considering are all deluxe resorts.  You may want to factor that into your decision.

One more pool worth checking out before you make your final decision is the one you'll find at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  They have a nice children's pool and a separate quiet pool over by the villas section of the resort.  I love to see the ducks that hang out around this pool and watching the geyser erupt hourly is pretty cool too.

Let us know if you need any additional advice, Daniel, as you make your plans.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
