What is the best plan for parking our car if we plan to visit Animal Kingdom in the morning and park hop to Magic Kingdom? Driving from park to park and having to catch the ferry seems like it will eat up a lot of time. How late are the parking lots open?

Hey there, Amber! Welcome to planDisney! You’re only two weeks out from your magical vacation, but I’m sure you’ve already been counting down the days for months.

My family and I are true road warriors! We will load into the car at a moments notice to head off to our next adventure, and that includes our "quick" eight-hour treks to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Needless to say, we have come to enjoy having our car with us on our vacation because it really opens up our options for getting around inside the “bubble.”

If you’re looking to maximize your time in each Theme Park, I recommend you park your car at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the morning and drive over to Magic Kingdom Park to park hop. Make sure to keep up with your parking receipt and show it to the Cast Member at the Magic Kingdom parking gate so you don’t have to pay for parking twice!

By rope-dropping Animal Kingdom, you get the chance to experience Pandora - The World of Avatar in all its morning glory! If you’re able to secure an Individual Lightning Lane for Avatar Flight of Passage, head straight to Na'vi River Journey to start the morning! This attraction’s wait time is usually pretty low at park open, and you’ll be able to grab some great photos in Pandora without any pesky Disney photo bombers.

You can hop over to Magic Kingdom starting at 2 p.m. So I recommend grabbing a quick snack (preferably the seasoned fries from Mr. Kamal’s) and heading back to the car for the drive over. It’s just long enough for a quick power nap, as long as you aren’t the driver of course! With your car near, you’ll be able to catch Disney’s Enchantment Nighttime spectacular and leisurely stroll toward the exit. You even have time to snap a few pictures along the way on Main Street U.S.A.

I hope this helps, Amber! Soon you’ll be immersed in the magic of Walt Disney World!

    To Infinity and Beyond,
