Hi Jana,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for this delicious question. Ever since I caught an entire soft serve swirl that had fallen from its cone in front of Dino Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction (yes, there was clapping, and yes, it was mostly from me), I have considered myself an Ice Cream Expert – and do I have the SCOOP for you!
Peanut butter sauce is as magical as pixie dust, and there are two places that your daughter absolutely can-NUT miss if peanut butter and chocolate are her…um…
jam.
First on my list is
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, located in Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Guests can either make a reservation or make use of their walk-up window; if your daughter’s special needs are impacted by small or loud spaces, I do recommend walking up. You won’t want to miss the No Way José, which is chocolate and vanilla ice cream topped with warm peanut butter and fudge sauces, peanut butter and chocolate chips and whip-cream. It’s incredible – and definitely big enough to share!
The other place for peanut butter magic is
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom Park, where the All-American Sundae is a smaller version of the No Way José. You can also order any flavor of hand-scooped ice cream and have it topped with peanut butter sauce or hot fudge (or both!).
For a great variety of ice cream flavors and great quality, check out Ample Hills Creamery on Disney's BoardWalk and Sprinkles in Disney Springs. Both are hits with my family.
Cheers to a Walt Disney World visit filled with scoops and scoops of magic, with a cherry on top!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
