Hey there! Hi there! Ho there, Cynthia! It's great to see you here again at planDisney, where you are as welcome as can be!
After visiting
Walt Disney World Resort with family members with food allergies, I learned just how food-friendly the Most Magical Place on Earth is! We found so many phenomenal gluten-free dining options everywhere we went.
Let's start with one of my favorite snacks: the iconic DOLE Whip! This traditional fruit blend from heaven is gluten-free. I like trying different fruit flavors. The DOLE Whip Orange Cup at
Sunshine Tree Terrace is my current fave, but they are all so good! My other favorite treat is a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. Everything tastes better when it's Mickey-shaped. These bars are cute and delicious!
If you hoof it over to
Animal Kingdom Theme Park,
Nomad Lounge has some crazy good churros. They even have gluten-free churros that will amaze you. "Churros" and "gluten-free" are not phrases you typically hear together, much less "amazing gluten-free churros."
Keeping on the idea of delicious doughnut-like treats: If you want to
laissez les bons temps rouler, Scat Cat's Club - Café in
Port Orleans - French Quarter has gluten-free beignets. Of all the beignets I've tried outside of New Orleans, these come the closest to transporting me to the Big Easy.
If you are looking for quick-serve options, you can find several places with chicken tenders and pizzas that can be made gluten-free. And at many restaurants, you don't have to miss out on the convenience of
mobile food ordering! In the
My Disney Experience app, tap the "+" at the bottom of the screen, then select "Order Food." Several favorites, like
Columbia Harbor House,
Pinocchio Village Haus and
Connections Eatery, have "Allergy-friendly" as a filter. Follow the prompts to see the "Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly" options.
If you ever have any questions about a menu item, please ask a Cast Member at the location. They will have more information about food preparation and options available. They are the best!
While immersed in the Disney Bubble, it looks like you may also still be spending some time like Tarzan: living in two worlds. If you need gluten-free or any other items from Target that you cannot find at Walt Disney World, the closest one is at Flamingo Crossings. It's about 8 miles from
Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Cynthia, I know you have put a lot of thought into planning your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. I hope it is all practically perfect in every way!
See 'Ya Real Soon!
