Welcome to planDisney, Jeff!
Thanks for choosing to be our Guest. In the words of Anton Ego from Ratatouille, "I don't like food, I
love it." Disneyland Resort is a paradise for the palate. There are so many fabulous places to eat. Let me offer up my suggestions:
Disneyland Park
I'm a big fan of the quick-service restaurants at Disneyland Park, Jeff. My top pick would be
Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland. The portion sizes here aren't massive, however, the food is delicious. I've tasted nearly everything on the menu. I really like the Banyan Beef Skewer, the Chieftain Chicken Skewer, the Outback Vegetable Skewer, the Safari Skewer, and the Pineapple Spear. My second pick would be
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. There is lots of galactic grub to munch on. My favorite dish is the Felucian Kefta & Hummus Garden Spread. If you would rather eat at a table service restaurant, you can't go wrong with
Blue Bayou Restaurant. You actually get to eat in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. How cool is that?! I would recommend going for lunch and getting the Monte Cristo sandwich.
Disney California Adventure Park
If you're looking for quick-service restaurants at Disney California Adventure Park, I would begin with
Flo's V8 Cafe in Cars Land. You'll feel like you're at the heart of Radiator Springs at this restaurant. There's nothing flashy about this place (besides the cool, neon lights at night). However, it does a pretty decent burger and some tasty fried chicken. If you're searching for more of a superhero vibe, try
Pym Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus. The best thing about this restaurant is the theming. The food is fine, but you're really going for the experience. Where else can you enjoy a Quantum Pretzel, Ever-expanding Cinna-Pym Toast, and (my favorite) a Celestial-sized Candy Bar? If you'd rather have a table service restaurant,
Lamplight Lounge does excellent food and the theming is very impressive. If you're looking for a more upscale experience, you can't beat
Carthay Circle. This classy restaurant will take you back to Hollywood's golden age and leave your taste buds dancing and singing with delight.
Disneyland Resort Hotels
Outside the parks, there are some great places to eat.
Napa Rose at Disney's Grand Californian Resort & Spa is my top pick. "If you're stressed, it's fine dining we suggest!" This is possibly the best restaurant at the Disneyland Resort and is "practically perfect" for that special occasion.
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel is also a great place to get cocktails and appetizers.
I hope that gives you some options, Jeff. You can't go wrong with any of the above. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. See ya real soon!
