where are the best places for the character dining? we are using the dining plan with one table service one quick service and one snack but dont mind paying for a meal here or there out of pocket as long as it is reasonable. breakfast or dinner is okay.

    Hi, Deanna!

You have picked the perfect Disney Dining Plan for your family's first trip to Walt Disney World. That's our favorite!

There are some absolutely wonderful Character Dining experiences throughout WDW parks and resorts, so you'll have to decide what works best for your family. Two iconic Character Dining locations that are my family's favorites include Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort (right next to Magic Kingdom, so walking or taking the monorail between the two is easy), where you'll dine with Mickey and pals, and The Crystal Palace, located right inside Magic Kingdom, where you'll WInnie the Pooh and friends. Both are buffets, which have resulted in my kids' being willing to try to many more items.

For the biggest "wow!" factor, consider booking a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table, as the food is fantastic and you'll be dining inside Cinderella Castle. This will use TWO Table Service entitlements, though, so choose carefully. If you like the idea of dining with Princesses, but don't want the double "cost" from your TS entitlements, then book a meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, at Epcot's Norway Pavilion. We love them both!

For something a little different, consider Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch, served at Disney's Polynesian Resort's 'Ohana. (Dinner is very popular there, too, but Hawaiian-style entertainment takes the place of characters at that time.) We've also had a great time at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast that's served over at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort's 1900 Park Fare. (Watching The Mad Hatter interact with both Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland is always very entertaining.)

Have fun trying to pick, Deanna! Send more questions as you think of them; we love to help!
