Hi Diane!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
Sadly, at this time, Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom Park is not featuring a nighttime parade. The Main Street Electrical Parade was moved to Disneyland Resort in the fall, and as of yet, has not been replaced with another nighttime offering.
Last summer, I had the chance to visit Disneyland Park during their 60th Anniversary Celebration, and was able to see Disney's Paint the Night Parade. It was AMAZING - literally take-your-breath AMAZING. I selfishly am hoping that Paint the Night will find a new home at Walt Disney World, but so far there have been no announcements that it's moving to Florida.
The good news is, on May 12th, Magic Kingdom Park will debut a brand new fireworks show! The
Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular is going to be the grandest of grand finales to a magical day in the park. I can't wait to see what the Imagineers have in store with the new show - it sounds like it's going to be phenomenal!
Did you know that all four Walt Disney World theme parks offer nighttime entertainment?
- Epcot - Illuminations
- Disney's Hollywood Studios - Fantasmic! and Star Wars Galactic Spectacular
- Disney's Animal Kingdom - Rivers of Light
- Magic Kingdom Park - Wishes Nighttime Spectacular (through May 11th) / Happily Ever After (beginning May 12th)
I'm keeping a close watch on the
Disney Parks Blog and following Walt Disney World on Twitter for any announcements about a new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom. I encourage you to do the same, and let's keep our fingers crossed we'll hear some pixie-dusted news real soon!
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
