    Where is the best place to watch the Illuminations show at Epcot? Can you reserve a boat to watch them from the water? We will be at Walt DisneyWorld March 11 - 17th. Three adults and a 5 year old. We have dinner at the Biergarten at 7:30.

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question. You’re in the single digit countdown for your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort - how exciting!

    I’ll let you in on my family’s secret: we’ve found that the absolute best place to experience Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is along the waterfront near Germany! Because it’s one of the countries that is the furthest away from Epcot’s Main Entrance, I find that it doesn’t get nearly as crowded as, say, Canada, Mexico or the viewing areas near the International Gateway. As an added bonus, you’ll be able to eat a leisurely dinner, linger over dessert and then head outside to snag a spot, without having to walk very far at all. 

    While you can reserve a Specialty Cruise that would allow you to experience Illuminations: Reflections of Earth or even Wishes over at Magic Kingdom Park, you wouldn’t have time to eat at Biergarten Restaurant at 7:30 PM and then head over to the Bayside Marina near Disney’s Beach Club Resort in order to experience your cruise. However, if you’re interested in a Specialty Cruise for another night, my friend Anne gave another Guest a fantastic description of her experience on one of her family’s trips, as well as tips for how to book one.
